What Would Life Be Like If…
… we went to the store and the kids didn’t ask for something…
… we picked up the newspaper, watched a news show, read news on our phones and only read good news…
… we spent one evening with the television turned off…
… we never got a piece of mail marked occupant…
… everybody knew how to spell your last name…
… we called a pizza restaurant and you weren’t immediately put on hold…
… we had a conversation with someone and they weren’t looking at their phone…
… we went to a restaurant and as the food was put on the table someone didn’t have to go to the bathroom…
… we were driving and the person in front of us knew how to drive…
… we were on the freeway and any other driver actually drove the speed limit…
… we bought anything and the batteries were always included…
… we were promised something by someone and they kept their promise…
… we never had to wait in line…I mean never…
… we went to the grocery store or the bank and we never were in the slowest line…
… we never bought anything from Amazon…
… we didn’t count Prime Trucks (I had to say that)
… we didn’t always want to watch “The Cutting Edge” (again, I had to say that)
… we were told to have a nice day and they really meant it…
… we stopped using emojis on all text messages…
… we put our phones down for one whole day and night…
… we stopped at a gas station for directions and someone there actually knew the directions to where you needed to go…
… we went to a Home Depot or Lowe’s and could actually find an employee to help us…
… we never had to use self-check to buy stuff in stores…
… we knew how to self-check produce or fruit… (I missed that training session)
… we actually read a real book… not audible… not electronic reader… an actual book…
… we actually talked to someone live…not email, not text, not zoom, not Instagram, not tweet, not facebook… (you get my drift)
… we ate popcorn that wasn’t microwave…
… we went one week without “fast food”…
… we went one week without “junk mail”…
…we went one week without drug commercials, insurance commercials, fast food commercials, weight loss commercials and car commercials. There would be nothing left… except for ads about award shows, talent shows, new shows, new seasons of old shows and new Movies… now there really wouldn’t be anything on TV except the actual shows. At least for now we don’t have to hear political ads ad nauseum…
I love life and these little inconveniences are all part of it. Enjoy the rest of your day and for that matter the rest of your life. I am for more… GOOD NEWS!!
