Some Thoughts On Taxes
I know that talking about taxes is hardly a “Good News” subject, but I thought that some of these comments and statements might make you laugh. You have heard that nothing is certain except “death and taxes”. I believe this is very true. I want to share some other thoughts that I believe are equally true.
“The difference between death and taxes is that death doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.”
“There is one difference between a tax collector and a taxidermist—the taxidermist leaves the hide.” This comes to us from former IRS Director… Mortimer Caplan…. boy was he a funny guy.
“Tax return: An annual work of fiction whose authorship is not confined to writers.” This can be found in Webster’s Unafraid Dictionary
“It is more deductible to give than to receive.” from Henry Leabo
“Some taxpayers close their eyes, some cover their ears, some shut their mouths, but all pay through the nose.” from Evan Esar
“An income tax form is like a laundry list—either way you lose your shirt.” from Fred Allen
“Tax reform is when you take the taxes off things that have been taxed in the past and put taxes on things that haven’t been taxed before.” from Art Buchwald
We all have to pay taxes… that is a given… might as well take a few jabs at the system.
