We have always had dogs. Kathy and I got our first one the year we were married when we were in the military. Our children never knew what it was like without a dog in the house. Over the years we have had many dogs. Many different breeds and we have gone through the loss of many of those that became a big part of our lives. If you have ever lost a dog or a cat for that matter I am sure you understand how difficult that can be. Our last dog is an English Golden Retriever. Her name is Kaylie and she has the most mello disposition you can imagine. She is 7 years old and has never barked. This is really bad because we got her as a guard dog for Kathy when I had to go out of town for business. I actually put a sign up on the side gate that said “Beware of Dog”. It was put there as a joke because anyone who knew Kaylie also knew that she was the opposite of a guard dog. I don’t think she has ever met a person she didn’t like. OK so now you know a little about the Hunsinger history with dogs.
The other day I was talking to my daughter in law Theresa and we were sharing things about our dogs and other dogs and she tells me that you can actually go to Starbucks and get a Puppichino for your dog. I thought that this was crazy. She also told me that at their local yogurt store you can get special yogurt for your dog. You may have heard about this stuff. I hadn’t until Theresa shared that with me. My reaction was…OMG!!! The End Is Near. I love dogs and even though I have never dressed a dog in dog clothes I won’t say anything negative to the owners who do. Dogs are people too…right? I just wonder about ordering a Puppichino or Dog Yogurt for your best friend. To me things are starting to go off the rails. I know that for humans, Starbucks will gladly make a second drink for you if you don’t like the first one. Does the same policy extend to dogs not liking their Puppichino. Do dogs also get sprinkles on their dog yogurt. Come on…these are questions that we shouldn’t even ponder. The next time you get a Puppichino at Starbucks for Spot or a Yogurt made especially for Fido…send me a note and let me know how it goes. I guess this means that all Starbucks are dog friendly.
