It is dangerous for me to have too much time on my hands.  My mind starts to wander and I think of things that really are not mainstream.  I am sitting in the Sacramento Airport writing this article because my flight was delayed.  I didn’t have any of my notes with me, just my laptop, but I sat down and decided to create this little blog post.  My thought was to consider the naming of businesses.  I think for the most part we assume that when someone starts a business they would create a name that might draw customers or clients to that business.  Thinking outside the box which is a place where I already spend too much time I thought about what would it be like if businesses had names that might bring in customers or clients just because the name of the business is wrong or bizarre.  I used to live in Turlock California and there was a barber shop named… “It’ll Grow Back”.  I always thought that was an interesting name for a barber shop.  Of course, I never tried it, but you have to give the owner credit for making you laugh.  I think it is fair to project what some other businesses might name themselves.  For the most part, I believe these would lead to their extinction but depending on the clientele it could have a positive effect.

A law firm named…”We Never Win”.  An Insurance Company that is called “We Reject All Claims Auto Insurance”, or “Cashing Your Premiums Keeps Us In Business Insurance Company”,  “You Always Get Our Voicemail Real Estate”, “Your Pain…No Gain Wellness”,  “In-Grown Toe Nails Are Us” , “Can I Put You On Hold Pizza”,  “This Will Shock You Electric”,  “Taking Care of Leaks For You Plumbing”,  “We Hold Most Reservations Rent A Car”, “Cleaning and Picking Up Most Rooms Daily Motel”, “Motel 69”, “We Sell Your Information Identity Security Company”, “No Insurance No Bond In-Home Care”,  “English Is Our Second Language Speech Therapists” and finally “Our Customer Service People Are All Hard To Understand On-Line Retailer”.

Obviously, none of these businesses exist.  Even though I do believe that “Can I Put You On Hold Pizza” is on point most of the time.  Don’t choose a business based solely on their name…it could be a bad idea.  I just thought of a few more.  “Take This Job and Shove It Recruiters” or “You Want To Go Where Travel Service”.  The options are endless.  Enjoy your day.
