Overthinking For You

Don’t fret… know that I will remain vigilant in overthinking things for you, so you don’t have to.  You have probably seen the commercial with Kevin Hart where his neighbor asks him why he is talking so loud and Kevin says…. “That is what I do”…. In my case overthinking things is… what I do.  Clearly this overthinking impacts all things that I am exposed to.  It can be something as simple as a road sign, or counting Prime Trucks.  It can be something on TV.  It can be something or someone at a store.  It can be instructions for putting something together…written by someone from China who doesn’t really have a grasp of the English language.   Never mind.  It can be last names.  So today I will treat last names which may also lead to first names.  Nothing is safe.  Some of the names are so long you have to wonder how old the kid has to be to know how to spell his last name and in some cases also his first name.  I am always drawn to funny names in the credits that fly by after the movie is over.  By the way…. what is a Best Boy?  I never figured that one out.  Moving on…. there is a famous NBA player with the last name…. Antetokounmpo. Another popular last name in Greece is Konstantinidis and don’t leave out Christodoulopoulos.  I think you get my point.  The child is already behind the eight ball with a name that long.  Keep the first name simple… not Alcibiades or Archimedes to name a couple.  Think about this child who is challenged on both his first and last names.  Give the kid a break, name him Bill or Bob, Mary or June.  Instead they get Alcibiades Christodoulopoulos… That is 28 letters… gees… there are only 26 letters in the Alphabet.  Kids learn the alphabet in early years but I don’t know a song for Alcibiades Christodoulopoulos.  Like abcdefg, hijklmnop,qrs and tuv, wx  y and z.  Lets just hope the child is not dyslexic or has some other learning disability.  No matter, remember my Kindergarden story.  The child would be Alcibiades C. in Kindergarden.  That would give him or her a few years to learn the last name.   Now just as an alternative… the largest population in the world is China.  I am not sure but there are billions of Chinese.  You would think that their last names would have to be long to differentiate them…. such is not the case.  They have last names like Li and Wu.  Come on… no wonder they are ahead of us in school.  The kids can learn their last names really fast and move on to other school work.  I hope I haven’t offended anyone…this is me simply overthinking. Have patience… my view of things is a bit off center sometimes but it is all in fun.
